The Accelerated Biodegradable Technology is only activated once in a landfill or composting facility environment under specific conditions where the product is deprived of light, oxygen and interacts with certain moisture conditions. What enables the gloves to compost at an accelerated rate?

Our Biodegradable Nitrile Gloves are specially formulated with our Accelerated Biodegradable Technology (ABT)™ to attract microbes found particularly in landfills.

After the gloves are used, they can be disposed in a regular waste bin. In a landfill, the gloves undergo a strictly enzymatic biodegradation process in which bacteria naturally consume the glove material and excrete an enzyme that dissolves and de-polymerises the nitrile polymer chain, allowing microbes to further break down the remaining polymers naturally.

The result is water, humus and biogas that can then captured and converted into clean renewable energy.
